I got all the components, just need to lose the excess.

Now THIS Is Summer Music..
I'm starting to get really excited about summer.
It's bright and sunny today and I just found out that I have lost 2.3kg in the last week.
How could this day get ANY better?!
Diet Dreams..
I watched the movie Tamara Drewe lastnight and was in total awe of Gemma Arterton.
I think there were two WOW moments (of her) for me in particular.
One: When she was in the bath and you see her amazing side profile..
Two: When she wore those denim shorts.
Some people will say she looks 'fat' or that they are 'unflattering' etc..
In fact, one of the characters in the movie actually had a line saying;
"She's poured herself into those shorts!"
I think she looks immaculate. It's so refreshing to see a full figured woman wearing mini shorts.
She has no flaws that I can see.
No cellulite, no real wobble.. She has a realistic body for a woman and I love it!
It was like a positive diet sign being sent directly to me when I found these today at my local thrift store.
Now I know without a doubt that I have the willpower to reach my goal.
They are a size 14 vintage pair of Bardot denim hot pants.
So far, I can get them just above my knees (lol)
I have a long way to go.
I Shall Call Her "Mini Me"
June, July and August = Winter
September, October and November = Spring
December, January and February = Summer
March, April and May = Autumn
As you can see from my seasonal calender above, we're only a month into winter here in Australia and I am already working on my bikini body. If I remember correctly, people start living like it's summer around November so that means I have five months to lose 30kg.
I know that 30kg sounds like a lot of weight.. and it is.
I may not feel it and I sure as hell don't look it, but let's be honest.. I'm closer to 100kg than I am to 90 and I wanna weigh less than 70kg in summer. For those of you who aren't in Australia, I'm roughly 213 pounds (97kg) and ideally I want to weigh 147 pounds (67kg).
I think the problem most people have with setting a goal is that it seems such a massive amount to lose but let's break it down into less scary figures.. If I want to lose 30kg in the next 5 months, that means I only have to lose 6kg a month - which is completely realistic and do-able!
I haven't made a big deal out of it, but I have been going to the gym flat out for the last month and I recently decided not to weigh myself. It may sound ridiculous to you but I don't want to be discouraged if the numbers aren't significantly different on the scales.
I also decided that despite my 30kg goal, all I really want, is to be slim - not skinny or thin.
I want to be able to put on a simple singlet dress in summer and walk out the door without worrying if the dress is too short, if the material is giving me jelly belly or if someone is going to think that I look like a big whale who is telling herself she is the size of a sardine.
My body isn't bad - but it isn't great either. I just need to slim down and tone my thighs, my stomach and get rid of the excess weight in my face.. Then I'll be happy.
I don't know if I'll make my goal in numbers but as long as I continue to feel better because I'm eating well and exercising regularly and as long as my underwear continue to fall down (due to them being too big - stop thinking kinky haha) then I will know I'm losing weight, feel I'm losing weight and wont be wasting my time stressing about the numbers and my "goal".
Before And After.
If you don't watch my vlog then you have no idea that I am on a steady diet and gym routine.. I didn't really notice a difference until the other day when I got a wedgie - about thirty times in one day. My underwear are too big, I don't feel 'bloated' anymore and my boyfriend has stopped jiggling my belly and referring to me by the name of his overweight friend haha.
Last night I wore a brand new outfit - I forgot to take photos so I will put on the outfit again tomorrow and take photos to show you what I was working with. I honestly felt a million dollars. I don't know how many kilos or pounds I've lost but my stomach has gone down a lot and my legs are slimmer already. I've always been a Coke bottle from the front and back view but lately I have been a Coke bottle from the side view as well - which is very unattractive let me tell you!
About six weeks ago I finally got sick of being uncomfortable in my clothes (and skin) and decided to do something about it. My girlfriend got revved up when I told her what I was doing so we now go to the gym together five days a week and to the pool, sauna and spa on Sundays. I've started roughly counting calories subconsciously and watching what I eat but the last few days I have slacked off a little bit. On Wednesday I will go hard again (because Monday and Tuesday I'll be at my grandparents house with no gym access) and I think I will swap my standard Thursday gym sessions for a full night of dancing in heels at a local club with my mates.
I really do have to put photos of lastnights outfit up but for now these before and after shots will have to do. They are about a month apart - taken in the same dress and in the same room of my house. This dress is sort of my measuring point for if I'm losing weight. It may seem weird but I don't trust scales.
I still want to lose another two dress sizes but I have really started to love my body again and that is the most important thing.

Project: Size Eight - Day Two.
I feel like it's been a month since I have written a post!
I was recently motivated to start working out. Working out is probably LEAST favourite thing to do in the world. Put it this way; I'd prefer to wash, dry and put away all of my neighbours dishes every day.
I have been talking to this guy and he calls me every night after he works out or goes for a run. That in itself got me interested in working out. He made it seem so simple that I felt a little silly for all the years I've wasted not working out.
I now know that my motivation only needs to start me off. It's exactly the same as when I cut out drinking soft drink. I stuck with it for a week and after the week, the temptation to drink soft drink wasn't even there.
My mum also really motivated me when she told me that after she gave birth to me, she would run around the block every day. What really tweaked my interest was that within six weeks she had dropped from a size 14/16 to a size 10.
After hearing how easy it is, I'm finally ready to part with my excess weight. Don't get me wrong, I know it wont be easy but if I tell my mind it's no big deal, then it'll get done. I need to think positive. Summer is a huge motivator because the spare bedroom in my house is literally packed so full of clothes that are too small for me, that I can barely close the door.
I wanna be a size 8 or 10 by the end of summer.
I think the motivation switch in my head is finally as easy as a light switch. I turn it on and off when I need it. This morning I got up, tied my hair up in a bun, brushed my teeth, put on my jogging clothes and went and ran four full laps at my full speed. Then I almost died and managed to drag myself home.
This is day two of my diet and exercise plan. I can't wait for day 60.

Six Days Soft Drink Free.
Today is the sixth day that I haven't had any soft drink and I think I'm really past it. I thought it would be harder than this. Day two and three I suffered with terrible headaches but now I feel like I could easily not have a can of soft drink for a year!
How amazing. Next on my chop list is chips and chocolate. For two days I substituted Coke and Pepsi with chips and Snickers and that just wont do.
Yay for willpower!

Cold Turkey Day Two.
After my post about Coke I decided to go seven days soft drink free. I know that if I don't drink soft drink for seven whole days that I will be able to live without soft drink from then on.
Day one was easier than I thought. I had three whole bottles of water instead (which is a huge effort considering I'm lucky to drink one bottle of water a day)
Day two (today) I've had a headache ALL EFFING DAY. My brain is going to burst out of my skull all over my laptop soon. The withdrawals started sooner than I thought..

A New Quote To Live By.
'Nothing tastes as good as being skinny feels.' - Kate Moss.
8 words have never been so true. Normally I'd be in the state of mind that 'What would Kate Moss know about being overweight', right?
That sentence truly does sum it up for me. I love food, I love soft drink and lollies but no matter how great they taste, I always feel bad afterwards. Not guilty, just weighed down. Unhealthy. I remember my flat stomach, tiny waist and curves for days. Now I just feel like one big curve.
I think now that I've been diagnosed with being lactose intolerant, while I have to cut out milk, most cheeses, yoghurt and other dairy such as ice cream from my diet I want to cut out a few other things too. I know it's time to stretch my willpower to it's witts end and cut out all the things that are making me feel like Ten Tonne Tessie.
Just before I wrote this post, I took the last swig of my can of coke. I feel yuck. I need to remember this feeling. Bogged down, heavy, greasy - like I'm swimming in tar. I'm looking at that can, sitting there all red & tempting.. and although I love to charge at a can of coke like a wild bull, I'm flipping every can of soft drink the bird and I'm going back to my water with a slice of lemon. It always leaves me refreshed and quenched.
You know what this means, don't you?
Back to nightly Zumba, sweating like an Olympic silver medalist, wholemeal pasta, doing a wardrobe overhaul for motivation, drinking water by the gallon and a vegetarian diet.
Give me the strength to get back to this.
Me in 2008
Me in 2007

Me in 2006

These photos may not look 'skinny' to you and by all means, I'm not a skinny person (even in my above 'skinny' photos) but believe me when I say, my body looks great (to me) at this size.
I've said it before and I'll say it again:
- I will always have large boobs, I'm an E cup.
- I will ALWAYS have a big bum. I've had it since I was born.
- I will always have a smaller waist than my hips and chest.
- If I drop below a certain weight, my face goes all 'bitchy' and I look really harsh and arrogant.
- I want that tiny bit of extra 'fat' or 'chubb' on my body & face.
-I'm an hourglass and that sums it all up.
I'm not aiming for SKINNY, I'll settle for slim.
I'm extremely lucky that I hold my weight well. A lot of girls/women who weigh what I currently do, are not as fortunate as I am. I think that's why it's taken me so long to make the commitment to diet. I know I'm overweight, I know I could look 100 times better but my body at the moment isn't all that bad in my eyes. Sure I purposely don't look in the mirror some days, but I know girls half my size who have a 'fat' complex. That train of thought is just not in my nature. I am always too busy looking at the positives to look at the negatives.
I guess it's time to own up to both.

When You Were Youngggggg
Ahh, remember the days..
When you were a bad ass if you owned a straightener because that was something that only hairdressers had. Before extensions were so easily available they may as well have sold them at the supermarket and before shaving one side of your head was the must-do of the season.
Back when guys had undercuts and wore baggy jeans. Back when girls thought the coolest thing you could have was a belly button piercing or a nose ring.
Before 15 year olds had tattoos and before solarium was the new black.
Maybe all of those things were still big in society back in the early 00's.
Perhaps I was just too young to take any notice, either that or I was living under a rock.
It just seems that back in the old days, things were much more simple. In the early 00's I don't know a single girl around who would have messed with punk or goth fashion. You would have been ridiculed for wearing too much black, anything leather, studded or spiked. The most daring thing to own was a pair of Doc Martens! But now all of that has changed, now it's extremely chic to wear a studded & spiked leather jacket over a baby pink lace skirt and silk pastel top. It's chic to wear ripped fishnet stockings, military boots and a sweetheart dress.
It seems like the sky is the limit.. And I'm happy about that. No more labels, no more outcasts, but does the fact that we can be a different person from one day to the next mean we have lost our individuality? The way fashion is going, women dressing in mens clothes, guys dressing in womens.. Are we all going to blend together? Are we losing what makes us different? I am sure that whatever we wear now, someone else has worn it before.
When did we lose the 'norm'? When did we lose the 'standard'? When did we lose our boundaries?
I dunno about the rest of you but it kind of intimidates me. This whole, no limits era. Maybe it's because I'm living in Australia at the moment, maybe it's because I feel that I need to lose 10kg before I can go all thigh high boots and a mini dress on ya'll or maybe it's the simple fact that I was raised in a small town where blue and green should never be seen without a colour inbetween. Haha, how tacky?!
Don't get me wrong. I'm the first to break most fashion rules. I buy the most stunning, stand alone, 'no-one else would dare to wear this' items but it seems that they do, have and will wear them. I'm moving to the fashion capital of the world and I'm worried that I'm throwing myself in the deep end and that I'll drown.
It's time to start taking chances. To get off my ass (however proud of it I am) and lose some kgs so that when I get off the plane in Italy next month, which is their hottest month of the year.. I will be able to wear my new YSL sandals, a MINI dress, some fantastic accessories and a freakin' awesome bag that consists of 50 colours and walk to the car without having to adjust my skirt 1500 times because I feel like it's riding up and you might accidentally see a part of my leg that I don't like.
I gotta get with the size 8 program.
(For all you UK, Euro and US ladies.. A size 8 in Aus is pretty damn small)
Wish me luck.
Oh, I almost forgot. From today onwards, It's Drew Barrymore Month. Will explain in my next post.
Peace.
