Wedding Fashion!!

Last week I went with my friend, coworker, and also future bride to Unbridaled for the first time. They are a small wedding dress boutique on South Lamar that I absolutely fell in love with. The complete opposite of other bridal shops, this store was not jam-packed with huge poofy dresses in bags. They specialize in more A-line, less heavy dresses from designers like Adele Wechsler, Augusta Jones, and Nicole Miller. They were so accommodating to my friend and her quick deadline (her wedding is Nov 8, 2009!!) and made suggestions about which dresses they could have ready to go now or in just a couple of weeks. They also had fun accessories like hats and hairpins with feathers and jewels. Go check them out for your wedding attire! Make sure to book an appointment if you want to go on a weekend!

New Look for the Business!

I just got a lovely new logo made by Bailey Amon of Amon Design Studio (amondesignstudio.com)! We've worked together over the last few weeks to create the perfect look for my business. I knew a calligrapher would be able to create exactly what I was loo
king for! I am going to keep working on it with different color combos. Here are some that I came up with using my beginner Paint skills:

The First on Our List of Recommendations

On Wednesday I visited the cuteist little store called Hayden Avery. I thought I must share in case anyone hadn't had the pleasure. I was attracted at first by the name of course (my last name being Hayden) and the Tiffany blue accents.

When I walked in I was immediately greeted by Leah, the owner, and given a personal tour around the store. They offer everything from invitations to personalized gifts and beyond. Go check it out, right off 35th before Jefferson.

The Baby in the Business

Just starting out. How do you run a business? I guess we'll find out!

My first step was to order business cards. I immediately went to vistaprint.com knowing they offer freebies. As I was ordering my 250 free cards, I came across a free month trial for a website. Sweet. I figured this would be an essential to running a business. So I added that to my cart and my new website address to my cards.

That was about 2 months ago. Turns out the website was a great decision, but what do I do with all of these cards?! I tried going to leave them at bridal shops, but that didn't work out the way I planned. I am slowly handing them out and already can't wait to pick out new ones.

I feel like I've had a good experience so far. I have one wedding confirmed and about 3 other possible dates. I've decided to become a certified wedding planner and will begin that process soon! I will keep you posted as the business progresses :)
