Take Me To Barbados!

After a great dinner out with my family at the Casablanca restaurant we stopped into Kmart to get some winter pjs. As a makeup addict my feet automatically take me to the cosmetics section where I was lucky enough to find these bad boys. Ladies I introduce you to the Face Of Australia Barbados nail polish set which I got for $1.75 each reduced from $4.95! I only missed out on one shade (that I know of) but after painting a quick and dodgey coat on my nails I have to say that I love each and every shade, which is a rare occurrence for me. Ill paint my nails properly to show you swatches tomorrow. Just had to share my bargain find with you :)

Inglot Lipstick Palette

Like any girl, I LOVE a sale or finding a bargain.

I'm not embarrassed to walk into a store and straight over to the sale section. Depending on the store of course!

When it comes to places like Inglot, I definitely browse around for a minute before I seek out their "promotions".

This is a deal I've been considering for a few weeks now. It's three lipsticks in a palette for $20. It's not the 'Freedom System' where they are magnetic and stackable palettes, but that's better because this one goes in your bag, has a slot for a lipbrush or two and also has a mirror so you can see what you're doing! ..And at only $6.66 a lipstick (including a home for them) who could resist?

The deal itself is value for money but I always hesitate when it comes to lipgloss-style lipsticks or lipgloss pots in general. I went in with the intention of just swatching the colours and after swatching the first colour, I immediately knew I would want to later buy at least twenty of the colours they offer.

I chose summer shades, despite the fact that most of the colours I really, really, really, really, really, really, really wanted were winter tones.

I bought a cool toned pastel baby pink, which is numbered "15"
I bought a creamy apricot colour, which is numbered "29"
And I bought the most amazing deep bright pink, which is numbered "33"

33 was the first shade I swatched in the store and is the reason I knew that I would love these lipsticks.

Below are photos of the colours, the palette, swatches and the last photo is the stain they left when wiped away with a tissue. I love lipsticks that have a slight stain to them, so that is yet another point in their favour.

Do you own any Inglot lipstick palettes?
What is your take on them?

The One Dollar Sale.

Yesterday I went late night shopping at Supre Factory Outlet and much to my surprise they were having a $1 sale on all items that were originally reduced to $2.50.

You're probably thinking that $2.50 is an AMAZING bargain to begin with, but think about it.. Instead of four items for $10, you get TEN items for $10.

Sounds a bit different when you put it into perspective, hey?

I ended up spending $15 (as I was low on money) but I got a few fantastic bargains. I bought five of these maxi skirts.

What's funny is that on the Supre website they are still full price at $18 each (plus postage)

I also got a few fluro knee length summer skirts and a handful of tops.
I'll be taking photos of all the items I bought tomorrow when the sun is out.

I'll also be going back to the warehouse sale to pick up some more great bargains asap.

Golden Girl.

I went to Brand Junction today and got my brother 20 t-shirts. He is always complaining that he has "nothing to wear" so I decided to shut him up once and for all.

After buying him the tshirts I went into Guess then I went into Aldo, Zu, Cotton On and Factorie. All of those stores were pretty disappointing to say the least. I figured that I'd be going home empty handed, until I went into Globalize.

These were on the back wall reduced down from $189. They fit PERFECTLY. They came in gold or black. I only have one other pair of lace heels and they are black Tony Bianco's with a velvet bow so these are definitely unlike any other shoe I own.

Love Love Love

Who Else Got $5,000 Worth Of Clothes Today For Only $250? I Know I Did.

Today is Sunday and my favourite thing to do on Sunday is lay back and watch movies. Today I didn't have the chance to slip into my usual routine. My phone rang at 6am. It was the guy I'm seeing. Then at 8am my mum woke me up so we could go to Trash And Treasure. It was super disappointing. The best part was my hash brown and chicken stick breakfast.

After that we went to Dick Smith Electrical and bought my brother a tripod for his Flip Ultra HD video camera.

We were on our way home when I remembered that we weren't far from the Supre Factory Outlet.

I'm sure I've mentioned it before (but for all you non-Aussies) Supre is a clothing store similar to Forever 21, Asos etc..

Funny story. I went there today for the first time and was AMAZED. I thought it would be just a dingy, dodgey little shop with some rejects, samples, seconds etc. I was WRONG. It was MASSIVE. There were over 100 racks and tables packed full of clothes and there were 30 racks of $10 items alone, which in itself is a bargain, right?

That's what I thought until I seen the two deals they were offering. The 30 odd racks of $10 clothes were $10 each an item or fill a bag for $50. That was a good deal but when I seen the bigger deal they had, I HAD to go for it. Fill a box for $250. I'm not one to spend $250 in one store but the deal completely sold me.

I bought the box and the hunt was on for the best items in my size. Not many people buy the boxes apparently so the girl didn't even know how to put it through the register! Anyway, after 2 hours, 30 racks and 40 odd trance songs later - I was ready to go through the check out. When I got to the register, the girl said, "How many items were you able to fit in there? We usually average about 50 - 60 items a box." I tried to hide my smile (because my mum and I could make packing a box into an Olympic sport). When she opened the box to see every single item neatly folded and pressed down, she looked at my mum and I like we were the Devil. She could not believe how much we fit into the box! Little did she know that every 10 items I put in the box, I either sat in the box or took my shoes off and pretended to squash the grapes like the Italians do when making wine. That was my version of a vacuum sealed box. When we got home, we unpacked the box ourselves and counted up the items. For $250 we got 210 items. One of the other workers actually said to the girl serving us "Are they allowed to have that many items shoved into the box?" But like the sign said - "As much as you can fit for $250."

Let me put it this way to make it more clear how much value for money this box was.

Each item was originally on sale for $10 each.
That means today I got $2,100 worth of clothes for $250. Not to mention that 3/4 of the items were originally over $35 in the store only a season or two ago. Realistically I got about $5,000 worth of clothing today.

IT WORKED OUT THAT I PAID 84 CENTS FOR EACH ITEM OF CLOTHING I BOUGHT.

I got my mum to take photos of me holding up the clothes as I unpacked them from the box when we got home. The photos aren't anything spectacular but you can see what I got.

Bargain Of The Week.

I've gone from having no sunglasses to having about 6 pairs. This is my latest bargain find. They are vintage Dolce&Gabbana sunglasses. I love the subtle cat eye look they have and tortoiseshell is my FAVOURITE look for sunglasses.

They're worn on the arms as you can see, but nothing that would turn me off wearing these beauties in summer. They are as old as I am, so I'm not complaining if they too didn't pass through the last 23 years unscathed.

Please excuse my hair and no makeup - I was preparing for the next stage of bleach.

Oh Shut The Hell Up!

Today I was at my local shopping center and seen the sale was still on in Cotton On. Anyone who knows me, knows that I am strangely drawn towards sale signs like a tractor beam is sucking me in and I have no control over myself or my wallet. This picture is an example - the UFO is the store and the cow is me (Ok so it's not the best example but you get my drift).

I was with my mum so instead of doing my penguin shuffle run, I walked calmly (at a faster pace than normal) into Cotton On and I seen a huge wall FULL of '$10 and under'. I know that I'm getting paid tomorrow so there was no need to keep my last $20 in my pocket, right? Right!

We went into the store and I went straight to the shoes. Some of you may have read my blog last fortnight about how I got a pair of baby pink ballet flats for $5. Well, I found the same design (sooo comfy) for the same bargain price of $5 in a gorgeous fuchsia colour. I know I get paid tomorrow and can come back for the things that are stocked in bulk so I purposely looked for the the one off things that I didn't want to miss out on. I bought a pair of white & black damask print leggings for $7.50 and a light blue polo top for my brother for $5. With $17.50 spent I decided that my last $2.50 could stay in my pocket and we left. On the way out I seen a huge pile of sleepwear for $7.50 so I made a mental note to remind myself to go back there tomorrow.

While walking around, mum shouted me a Gloria Jeans very vanilla chiller (iced coffee with whipped cream and caramel on top) - I took a photo of it because it looked like heaven in a plastic cup. We were about to go out to the bus stop when we passed Forever New with another huge SALE sign and *BRRRRRRRRRRR.TRACTOR.BEAM.BRRRRRRRR*. We went in for a quick look because I knew I couldn't get anything for $2.50, right? Wrong! Well sort of right because I had to borrow 45 cents.. But still - $2.95 bought me a pair of leopard print stockings on sale!! I ended up borrowing a little more cash off mum to buy a pair of purple knit & lurex fingerless gloves that were on sale for the bargain price of $5!!! I have to go back in there tomorrow for a few other items I seen while I was looking around.

We left the store after I had a conversation with the girl at the counter, even though you can't really call it a conversation because I couldn't get a single word in. She is one of those girls who speak over you. I'd go to say something and she would cut me off and talk about herself. About how much money she has, how she needs a new wardrobe to fit all of her new clothes and that she is getting a sore throat because of how cold the weather is - If you ask me, she is getting a sore throat because she never shuts her mouth.

Oh lord please don't let her become a friend on my blog after I've just publicly dissed her.. Hrmm.. *coughcough* On that note, did I mention how wonderful it was to encounter a chatty sales person? Some would say having a staff member speak too much is better than the ones who are too busy to serve you because they are either texting, looking at themselves in a mirror, gossiping or playing with their hair.

=\

A lot of my friends are the type that don't stand for those kind of sales staff. They are actually divided right down the middle in their responses/reactions.

Half of them would just decide not to buy the items because the girl serving was a 'rude bitch' or up herself (which are pretty much the same thing in my eyes). The girl who used to live with me (who 'forgot to return' my Dior sunglasses and my freakin ipod!), I used to have to tell her to get a grip with things like that because if she did the whole self-righteous thing in every store with rude sales staff, she would be starving, naked and broke because there are rude sales staff in all the banks, the clothing stores and food stores I've ever been in and in the end, it was only her that was missing out because of her reaction. They couldn't care less if she buys something or not.

The other half of my friends would just be bitches right back and 'put them in their place'.
In my experience, trying to out-bitch a bitch is near impossible. The bitchier you become, the bitchier they become so they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Besides, I'm from a bit of an 'ethnic hood' or ' arab ghetto' area as some people call it. The girls are crazy (not in a good way) and I don't want to be stabbed with a pen or have a stapler thrown at me by some psycho store assistant who's brothers are fully sik gang members and get arrested three times a week, so it's like - Can you please just buy your clothes and lets get the hell out of here..?!

One girl I used to be friends with would steal something from the store if a staff member was really rude. The first (and last) time I went to her house I was ASTONISHED! Her bedroom was like a shrine to shopping malls across Melbourne. She had an entire room full of random 'Dresses now $19.95' and 'Buy 2 & get a 3rd item for free' signs all over the place.

Our friendship didn't last very long after that day. She said stealing things was a way of getting back at them because it was about the principal... I said it was about the kleptomania. Haha.

I think all of those approaches are failures. I find it best to just smile, pay for my items and not give them a second thought coz it's like this: Honey, just because you work for a low level clothing store chain, doesn't make you queen-bee and doesn't make you top-dog, so why dont you drop your attitude and SERVE me.
I swear I'm nice, but I can't handle girls who try and treat you like shit. Your no better than I am, so why do you insist on giving me that raised eyebrow look?

Meh, enjoy the crows feet.

Must go, sorry for a reallllly longggggg post but I had to rant..

Peace.
