Ombre, Dip Dying, Whatever You Call It, I've Done It!

I think by now we have all seen and admired Lauren Conrad's dip dying and Lady Gaga's ombre.. We've shrieked at the shocking job done on some of Nicki Minaj's wig and been in awe of some model ombre's in Vogue.. I know that most of you out there will be like "No way. I am not damaging my hair for anything!" because let's face it.. Hair takes a year to build up it's health and twenty minutes of bleach to destroy it. I guess in a way I'm lucky that I'm blonde (now) because it means I can put wash out colours in my hair and not damage my hair.. Or does it? 

These wash out colours are amazing and even child-safe but when it comes to washing them out, they're a bitch! When I did the whole fairyfloss pink fad in September, it took me two sessions of prelightener just to get rid of the residue pink that was stained on my hair. 

Who says we learn from our mistakes? Haha.. Yesterday I was bored and the Cherry Bomb fudge was staring at me.. Mix one teaspoon with half a cup of conditioner, slap it on, wash it off and within five minutes I went from platinum blonde Playmate hair to funky fresh celebrity-style blonde and coral summer hair.

Everything That Glitters Isn't Always Gold..

I got home from gym today and was actually in the mood to play around with some makeup before I had a shower. I washed my face, applied foundation to half my face and grabbed the closest bright eyeshadow which was a Mac pigment pot in the shade Bright Fuchsia. 

It's a very dramatic and daring colour, perfect for summer. 

After rummaging around in my makeup drawer I found a matching Glitter Eye Creme by BYS in the colour Cherry Bloom. It reminded me of a tutorial I watched on YouTube called "How To Get Fairy Eyes" (or something along those lines).

You can tell it's a rushed job but I found it fun to experiment with such a bold colour and glitter is never "safe" so the combination of the two was so daring. I may just wear this look clubbing on the weekend.

Inglot Lipstick Palette

Like any girl, I LOVE a sale or finding a bargain. 

I'm not embarrassed to walk into a store and straight over to the sale section. Depending on the store of course!

When it comes to places like Inglot, I definitely browse around for a minute before I seek out their "promotions". 

This is a deal I've been considering for a few weeks now. It's three lipsticks in a palette for $20. It's not the 'Freedom System' where they are magnetic and stackable palettes, but that's better because this one goes in your bag, has a slot for a lipbrush or two and also has a mirror so you can see what you're doing! ..And at only $6.66 a lipstick (including a home for them) who could resist?

The deal itself is value for money but I always hesitate when it comes to lipgloss-style lipsticks or lipgloss pots in general. I went in with the intention of just swatching the colours and after swatching the first colour, I immediately knew I would want to later buy at least twenty of the colours they offer. 

I chose summer shades, despite the fact that most of the colours I really, really, really, really, really, really, really wanted were winter tones.

I bought a cool toned pastel baby pink, which is numbered "15"

I bought a creamy apricot colour, which is numbered "29"

And I bought the most amazing deep bright pink, which is numbered "33"

33 was the first shade I swatched in the store and is the reason I knew that I would love these lipsticks.

Below are photos of the colours, the palette, swatches and the last photo is the stain they left when wiped away with a tissue. I love lipsticks that have a slight stain to them, so that is yet another point in their favour.

Colour - Fudge in Pink Moon and Cherry Bomb.

Instructions (For Light Blonde Hair) - Take half a teaspoon of Pink Moon, half a teaspoon of Cherry Bomb and dilute (weaken colour/mix) with one cup of conditioner. Leave on your hair for less five minutes. Rinse in luke warm water. Do not shampoo out, it strips intensity and pigment from the colour.

Shampoo - L'Oreal Elvive in Damage Care.

Conditioner - L'Oreal Elvive in Damage Care.

Treatment - L'Oreal Elvive Leave In Conditioning Treatment Spray.

International Swaps.

Recently a friend I made through YouTube suggested we so a swap. She lives in America so i agreed to send her Australian hair, beauty and jewelry items and she would do the same with items easily found I'm the USA. I have already bought her around fifteen items so these are just another six things i bought today to stockpile.

My New Pink Ralph Lauren Heels

I've been addicted to this kind of heel since I was thirteen. 

Not the heel itself but the entire look of this style of shoe.. Everything from the wooden base, slim front platform, sturdy thick heels that aren't too high, basic, comfortable, versatile, studded to the fact that they are only held on by a simple strap across the toes. 

They always remind me of clip clop heels on beautiful Spanish women living in Miami.

Weird - but true.

They have never been worn but you can see that they are a tad 'shop soiled'. The Ralph Lauren label is a bit scratched but other than that - these are in perfect condition. 

Such a nice addition to my summer wardrobe.
