I decided to give my hair a rest from tape extensions and wear clip ins for a little while. Can't wait to put them in tonight!
They're only 20 inches long, as opposed to my normal 24s but i like clip ins to be a bit shorter so they look more natural.

I have mixed emotions about having short hair again. 

On one hand I'm happy, on the other hand I feel ordinary..

I guess I'll get use to it, or put my extensions back in after a week or so.. Haha.

Tape Hair Extensions Removal.

Sorry for the boring title but if I didn't make it sound so clinical, I probably would have said something like: 

"Tape Hair Extensions Removal Was Invented By The DEVIL".. Actually, that does sort of have a ring to it..

Ok I think I'm being a bit of an impatient little baby here because I COULD go to one of my two girlfriends who are qualified hairdressers and get them removed and reapplied but one of my friends is going to charge me $200 to remove then reapply.. And another friend is going to charge me only $80 to remove and reapply but I thought to myself that it's Christmas soon and I should be spending my money on presents NOT my hair so I went on Google, learned how to remove them myself using simple household items and then I went a step further and looked up how to retape and reapply tape hair extensions. 

I've always been more of a DIY girl, thanks to my grandfather who could probably put up a shed with a toothpick and a piece of chicken wire. So after taking into account my money situation, Christmas presents, the traveling back and forth to the cheaper hairdressing alternative (who lives an hours drive away) and my burning desire to try and do everything myself at the same quality and standard of a professional.. I have decided that doing a home job is the best option for me. 

I have found some hair extensions tape on Ebay for $1.29 coming from China, which will take two weeks to get here or I could pay $9.99 for tape that is coming from two states over, that'll probably take two days to get here. As I'm already saving $80 - $200 on my hair, I don't mind spending $10 on the tape and just dealing with short hair for a few days. 

I'm leaving the reapplication of my extensions in the capable hands of my mum. She use to install my  pesky glue in extensions, so a thin tab of double sided tape shouldn't be very difficult for her to handle. 

I am off now to remove my extensions in the correct way, because when the a few previous extensions started to slip out, I removed them myself by just pulling the two pieces of tape apart.. 

Can you say O U C H . . ?

Yeah, it pulled out half my frikin hair with it! Leaving me with a red roar bald spot.

Below is what a tape extension looks like after a month.
It's just grown out, but that is how long my hair has grown in a month. I've done my regrowth twice and as you can see, I'm in need of doing it for a third time. 

This is one weeks regrowth.. 

I've been blonde a year and my black hairdye is STILL coming out. It's disgusting.

I will take photos and video of me removing these extensions properly using home products so you can do it at home and save some money. I will then do a follow up post to show how to retape and reapply your own extensions to save you EVEN MORE money.

Who else has tape hair extensions? I highly suggest buying them. They are the most NATURAL looking and feeling extensions in ze UNIVERSE!

I did it again, I fell back into the pit of extensions. This time I'm actually kinda impressed.. And for $400 - I should be.

What I Do At 2am..

I pour myself a diluted glass of Mr D's Cola (it's similar to a strong sweet cola cordial but I mix it with water) and then I bleach my extensions. 

I guess you could say I'm a bit of a night person?

Hello Goldie Locks.

I miss having long hair so yesterday I took my extensions out of retirement for fun.

I'm so glad my hair is no longer such a brassy tone but I after taking these photos, I see how much of an idiot I am for cutting it. To think my hair was to my bum and now it JUST passes my shoulders. Ugh.. I can't wait until this time next year when it's atleast at my waist again.

It was fun wearing my friend's extensions.

It's funny how different hair colours require more or less makeup.

My makeup looked really pretty with my blonde hair but as soon as I put the red extensions in, I needed a tan, some black liner, bronzer and lipstick.

I don't think I'll be going this colour any time soon but it was fun while it lasted.

The picture is not me, I just found this image when I was searching for hair ideas.

I was sixteen and this was the ultimate hair in my eyes.

Imagine my surprise when I was on Ebay and found pretty much exactly the same colour in extensions. I was super tempted to buy it but I guess I've moved on. I'm definitely not over the pink, but the black is definitely in my past and staying there for good.

Today I woke up with a completely different feeling than I have in a long time.

It wasn't because I woke up for the first time in my new home. It wasn't even because I'm covered in so many black bruises that it looks like Michael Jackson wrote the song 'Black or White' based on my current skin colour. I think it is entirely to do with the fact that I woke up with short hair for the first time in a month. That's right ladies - I'm back to my natural form.

After a disastrous attempt to change my blonde to a different shade of blonde, my hair turned GREY. Yes, grey. I could have easily gone down to a retirement village and not have been asked for i.d, that's how bad it was.

It wasn't just the grey hair that made me want to take out my extensions, it was because they had grown like an inch since I put them in. Instead of spending another $150 and getting them pushed up I decided that it was best if I just got rid of them and worked my Marilyn Monroe x Anna Nicole Smith hair while I still have it. My hair is still a pale shade of grey with some scary roots (that are almost ginger due to the colour I used to counteract the grey tone) so it's safe to say that I will be running - literally running into a department store as soon as I can find a bra to put on.

I swear, the worst part about moving house for me is not being able to locate key objects for my daily life. I lost my video camera (which doesn't affect you guys, but it does affect my vlog) and I lost every single bra I own. How ridiculous is that? I got underwear coming out the wah-zoo but not a single bra!

Today it looks like I will either be wearing five singlets that are two sizes too small under my normal clothes, just to keep the twins on point.. Or worst case scenario? I dig up the sticky tape. Lots of sticky tape. Think of it like a sticky tape halter bra.

Either option seems unpleasant if you ask me and I will be sure NOT to photograph whatever option I go with. Haha.

I took lots of photos while we were moving house and a few of the removal of my extensions. They wont be crash hot quality because they are just phone pics but it's better than nothing I guess.
