Knock Knock. Whos There? The Postman!

I hate being deceived.

When I opened my parcel today, I was expecting the palette that's displayed in the above photo. After all, that is the 'Dior Beige Massai palette'.

When I placed a bid, I knew the palette was a tad different but it still looked quite large in their photos, not overly huge but at least a standard Dior palette size. Today when it arrived it didn't take me long to realize that it's the smallest frikin palette on the face of the Earth!! I had to open the package again to see if that was just a free sample that I received with my full sized palette. It wasn't.

It's probably double the size of a standard single Dior shadow but we all know that still not anywhere as big as the normal palettes. I'll be lucky if I can even get an ear bud into the eyeshadows on the sides, let alone a standard makeup brush...

Ok maybe it's not THAT small but seriously, I was thinking the palette was around 10 - 12cm. It's more like 6cm.

I really don't mind because I love the colours but I wish they had of advertised it was a travel size palette.

Anyway, enough of a rant and onto the important stuff.

Gonna Live My Life In The Neon Light.

I've just spent another hour on Ebay. This time Australian Ebay. I thought I'd give it a shot and surprisingly it didn't disappoint. I'm so used of the cosmetics being super expensive so it was refreshing to see Yves Saint Laurent lipsticks for UNDER $30.

I was so pleased with prices that I bid on about fifteen lippies. Fingers crossed that I win at least three of them. I'll be happy even if I only win one! Any less than one and I'll be throwing things for sure haha. This post I just seen has only motivated me jack up my proxy even more!

I am longing for a YSL collecton even bigger than the one I have linked to. So far I have about 3 palettes and 10 lipsticks/lipglosses of theirs.. I am hoping I can add to the collection as of tomorrow when the auction ends.

I've decided to do all of my postman hauls separately. It will make it a lot easier because now I can swatch all the makeup and it wont get confusing.

This is the Yves Saint Laurent Lip Twins lipgloss in Plum Harmony #7.

I bought this on Ebay. It's brand new but doesn't come with the YSL application brush as photographed below.

As you can see, they are both gorgeous colours and would look good on their own, over another lipstick, under a clear gloss, or mixed together. The options are endless!! These usually go fairly cheap on American Ebay - who knows why! I think they are fantastic. Yes I have an obsession with YSL products but this is a great buy. You get two colours for the price of one, the packaging is gorgeous and there is a mirror on it that reads Yves Saint Laurent.

This Weeks Feature.

This weeks feature is my Nike Air Force One heels.

They are so hard to come by! I bought these two years off Ebay and I ended up paying $172 (don't know how I remember that) and I have never seen another pair for sale since.

The postman arrived today with my Dior 'Trigger Plum' nail polish and Chanel 'Intimitable' sample sized mascara.

I bought these together off Ebay extremely cheap.

Chanel mascara has always worked well on me. It never clumps, is always the blackest of black and my lashes are always false-lash long.


The nail polish was $1.95 and the mascara was $4 odd plus around $5 postage.

I'm Sticking To One Perfume. Are You?

Through the years I have gone through many perfume phases.

When I was younger, I would wear Impulse body sprays and a perfume from a bottle in the shape of an exclamation mark.

When I got a little older, I started wearing Ralph Lauren Romance, then it was Allure by Chanel.

Then for a long time I wore Dolce&Gabbana Light Blue. It was fresh, not sweet, which is a big MUST for me. I can't handle strong floral or sweet scents. They give me an instant headache.

For around 2 years after the Light Blue ran out, I'm ashamed to admit that I didn't wear perfume.

One day I was walking down Collins Street with my mum and we decided to go into Chanel. I seen a dozen perfumes on the wall and picked up the one closest to me and sprayed it on my wrist. It was the most perfect scent I have ever come across. I wanted to buy it but was too embarrassed. The Chanel store in Melbourne is very intimidating when you have no makeup on and are wearing Chuck Taylor sneakers with Mossimo trackies. I'm surprised the security guard even let us in the door!

We left the Chanel store empty handed and kept walking through the city. I seen the Bourke Street Mall ahead and made a detour into David Jones. I only went in there with the intention of spraying myself repeatedly so I could have that scent in my nose all day long. I had never purchased expensive perfume for myself. All the others were either a present or my mum went halves so it wasn't of huge monetary value in my eyes. All of my other perfumes were chucked in the bottom of my bag, thrown in a makeup case, left in direct sunlight. I didn't appreciate them. They were just a nice scent so I'd smell pretty and none of them were truly me.

When I was in David Jones, there were 3 different types of 'Chance' by Chanel available. I couldn't remember which one I sprayed. I picked them up one at a time and sprayed them onto cards. The last one I sprayed was it, I didn't even need to spray the card because as soon as I opened the lid, I knew it was the one. Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche. It has been my scent ever since.

I bought a 50ml on the spot and when that ran out, I bought a 100ml. I was depressed when that bottle ran out and I was broke, but then my brother bought me a 100ml for my birthday last year. When that bottle eventually ran out 3 months ago I was in a bit of a tight spot money wise so I went on Ebay and I bought three sample size vials to keep me going until I could afford the bottle, but just kept putting it off. I had the roller ball vials so I didn't need to buy a 100ml. Now all three vials are empty and I am itching to smell it again.

I even went into a perfume store to try out other scents but nothing compared. It is just perfection for my nose, so why mess with perfection? I get paid Wednesday and one of the first things I'm going to do is stop at Myer and buy a 100ml. I'll even look on Ebay today and perhaps buy one with PayPal funds. I'm praying that someone has the gift pack listed with the moisturizer and the body wash.

I wonder if I'm the only one who sticks to a scent at a time? I know a lot of women who have 20 different perfumes going at once. I dunno, I kinda like having a signature scent. This guy I used to be good friends with would always take in a deep breath as soon as I got into the car. He said he would always remember what I smelt like (in a good way). A bit cheesy but hey, that's what I was going for - something to remember me. Now every time he smells Chance Eau Fraiche, he will think of me.

To Blythe Or Not To Blythe?

Does anyone own a Blythe doll? At first they kinda freaked me out. Little bodies, big heads and these scary eyes that would force me to wish her goodnight every time I went to bed. I'd make sure to wish her goodnight in the most pleasant and genuine way possible, just in case she came to life and beat the crap out of me during my peaceful slumber for being so neglectful and rude.
'This girl is weird, she has some serious issues.' - I can hear all of you saying something along these lines to yourself..

I guess you do become a little strange when your 12 years old and talked into watching The Bride Of Chucky (by a saddistic stepmother type who was practically my age). After being scarred for the rest of my life by this and the movie Scream (don't ask), I began wishing all of my toys 'sweet dreams' before bed. I have remained ever-so-fearful that they were out to get me. I began making sure they were comfortable and sitting with other toys that they might have something in common with..

But enough of that. In my head I can already imagine my mum reading this and thinking 'Warts and all Anastasia, warts and all.'

So to cut a longer story long.... After getting an Etsy tutorial from my mum (lord knows how this happened?!) I typed in Vuitton and this little gem came up for $45 USD. I thought to myself 'Ok, don't get excited, it must be a fake.. No way would someone sell a genuine one that cheap.'

Then, much to my surprise, when I clicked on the second picture I literally stopped for a moment and said 'Bullshit!' out loud. The second photo that came up was none other than a little fashionista carrying this bag like it ain't no thing but a chicken wing on a string.

Now, I know that unlike this anorexic, sunlight-deprived fire hydrant, I don't have a receding hairline but holy shit, how is it possible that this doll dresses better than I do? It's a sad, sad day when you want to dress like ET after Carson was finished with him..

I gotta hand it to the fantastic people on Etsy - This bag and that jacket are THE SHIIIIIIIIT!

I then spent the next two hours looking on the world wide web for a Blythe doll to buy and damnnnn, a standard one that needs a head to toe makeover is around $250 American dollars. ARE YOU REALLY EXPECTING ME TO PAY APPROXIMATELY $350 AUD FOR A DOLL TO PLAY DRESS UPS WITH? No, didn't think so.. So I looked for second hand ones ;)..

Geez, STILL no luck! The fact that I'm not an Ebay user anymore probably cut down a good 75% of my options. Why are these dolls so hard to come by? Hasn't anyone done a similar doll?

If anyone mentions Bratz dolls I will hurt them.

I'm 22, I refuse to buy a doll that has an age recommendation for 6 - 12 years on the box. Oh, but then again, If I can buy all the fantastic gear on Etsy and it will fit a Bratz doll, I might have to give it a try... I'l just make sure to keep her somewhere none of my friends or family will see. Somewhere that wont upset her of course. I'm not risking a full scale riot just because I wont put her on display. You know how bitchy those fashionistas can get. It's only a matter of time before they put bubblegum in your hair, spill alcohol on your new silk shoes or tell you that you look like a pregnant heffa in your new Herve Leger bandage dress because they know you lashed out and ate a chuppa chup on Wednesday.
