She's Ready For Red..

My mum has only ever been two hair colours in her life, blonde and black.

Blonde is beautiful, as we are naturally fair. She has olive skin and striking reptile green eyes so of course blonde is going to be dreamy on her but lately she has started to lose the glow that blonde hair usually gives her.

We knew that she needed to change it up a bit and that if she couldn't be blonde, she definitely couldn't go back to black.. Mainly because when she has black hair, it looks like she was acting in one of those scenes where the person is standing under a construction site and an oil drum spills over them.. Either that or I could just hand her a straw broom and listen to her cackle as she flies away on it.

By now you should have gotten the point that black hair on my mum is obviously not a good thing.

What else is there though? The whole two tone thing is not an option and brown looks dull on most people, so that's out.. And then **lightbulb**

RED

Red is a terrifying word when your a blonde. It's a horribly scary word indeed.
You spend your life trying to eliminate any red and orange so to even suggest it, should be considered madness.. Unless you've been watching Body Of Proof, Unforgettable, Prime Suspect, True Blood, Pretty Woman, Thomas Crown Affair, Assassins, Grumpy Old Men or The Wedding Date (like we have)..

What do those movies and tv shows have in common, you ask?

All the main actresses are REDHEADS and they look AMAZING!

Poppy Montgomery, Debra Messing, Julianne Moore, Julia Roberts, Ann Margaret..
Just to name a few.. All drop dead gorgeous redheads..

So today we went out in search of the perfect red for my mum to try.

Of course with such a dramatic change you can't just slap it on your hair and hope for the best, so I did test strands on some of my microbead extensions and out of all four colours, none of them were the right shade. It's hard because we don't want a colour too orange and we don't want something too dark or too bright.. Finding that perfect auburn red is going to be harder than we thought.

We wanted to make sure the colours really weren't the right match so we did two colour strips in mums hair. They were NOT a success..

The top photo was our most likely contender as her base colour - that we nicknamed Dead Duck because it was such a flat and boring colour.

The second photo was the one we were scared would be too 'cartoonish'.. And we were right.

It's a bonus that the second colour is actually the perfect colour for my girlfriend Monicah. She spends a small fortune getting me to dye her hair with fudge every three weeks so this should help her purse quite a bit!

As for my mums hair? I'll update you when we find her perfect shade :)

Olivia Benson Has 'Fearlessness'

For years I have watched Law & Order SVU and wondered what Olivia Bensons necklace was. After doing a Google search I found out that it says "fearlessness", which suits her well.

They are available to buy here.

Two Can Keep A Secret If One Of Them Is Dead.

I'm currently sitting on my couch eating salted cashews and maltesers. I'm washing that down with a glass of O.J while I watch ten episodes of Pretty Little Liars.

I LOVE Jenna's step-brother Toby (played by Keegan Allen). He is so gorgeous and has the most amazing bone structure.

Is anyone else obsessed with this television show???

Glenyth.

I must say that Gwenyth Paltrow looked AMAZING in the Glee episode 'The Substitute'.

My Life On The Silver Screen.

To me, watching a movie isn't about entertainment. Sure it's a great way to fill your spare time but that's not why I watch movies. I watch movies to leave my life behind and be a part of another persons life for two hours or so.

If at the end of those two hours I haven't laughed, cried, rolled my eyes, clenched my fist or yelled at the television - the movie sucked.

If I've checked my phone, opened the lid on my laptop or walked into the kitchen for a drink during the movie without wanting to pause it - the movie sucked.

I watch a lot of movies and television shows. They are both addictive in their own way. Television is usually more convenient because you don't have to wait two years for the next part of the story (better known as the sequel).

Lately I've been wondering just how involved I get in movies. I watched the movie Flipped today for the first time and it was great. I really enjoyed it and I'm not too ashamed to admit that I cried at the parts that were sad or heart felt. In movies like these, I never realized that when the movie is over, I stand up, close my eyes tight and cry inside for a minute or two.

I take it with me.

I'm starting to think that movies and television really effect my life. It's not hard enough to carry the stress, disappointment, anger, sadness and devastation from my own circumstances but I find myself carrying other peoples baggage with me too.. and they are make believe people at that!

I really wonder if I stopped watching things that make me sad, angry or frustrated, would I be a happier person?

I'd love to put that theory to the test but I know that if I did cut those movies from my day to day life, I would feel like parts of me were missing. Where else would I get to chase a bad guy through the street, find my soul mate at the age of six, hunt monsters in the night or hack into a government computer using a mobile phone?

Movies and television shows make my life more interesting. Do you know anyone else who's a cat burglar on Tuesday, an undercover cop on Wednesday and the head of the Mafia on Thursday?

Didn't think so.

Glee-Q

Ahh the controversy this has caused.

Yes, I admit there are other things I'd prefer to look at than a photo of Lea Michele with her legs wide open wearing nothing from the waist down other than panties but seriously, what do people expect when it's Terry Richardson who is the photographer?

Diana Agron was super classy about the sh!t she must have copped.

I just can't believe they are getting so much negativity over this photo shoot. It is not pornographic and seriously, they are all around 24 years old, how is THAT relevant to pedophilia? So what if they are posing in a high school with barely any clothing..

Is this really the most horrible thing in the world? No, I say GET OVER IT.

Most Played In August.

The Safety Dance - Glee Style.

I'm Tired Of Waiting, Wondering If You Are Ever Coming Around, My Faith In You Is Fading.. When Will I Meet You On The Outskirts Of Town?

I am the type of person who gets incredibly involved in movies, even tv shows. I can fall in love with a character I'm watching and for the duration of that movie, he would be IT - the one I would forever measure every man against. I don't know if it's the dreamer in me, the damaged part of me or the soppy romantic in me but I fall in love every week.. and it lasts as long as 3 hours - if I'm lucky. I can always go back and press replay, but it's never the same the second time around. I think that's why television shows have more of a pay off for me. It's 22 episodes a year for 5 odd years of my life. That's 104 hours of being in love with Dean Winchester, with no heart break, no stress that he won't call and no regrets two years later when I realize I should have moved on with my life. For those 104 hours, I've watched him kick ass, take his shirt off, cry, smile, lose his temper, laugh, eat, goof around and generally make me happy. It's the ultimate safe relationship in the most pathetic, twisted and warped way of thinking.

In reality Jensen Ackles is happily married. In reality, I'm mostly-happily single.

I think every woman has watched at least one movie in her life that made her take a step back and think 'that's what I want in a man' and there is nothing wrong with that. The men in movies, the men in books and the men in tv shows ARE characters but where does that inspiration come from? It had to come from someones real life experiences. At one point in time there had to be a fairy tale. There was a fairy tale. I know it.

Once upon a time there was a millionaire who fell in love with a hooker, a pair of teenagers from rival families, a peasant girl who fell in love with a prince and an older woman who married a younger man. There are people living true life love stories every single day and we are so stuck in our own reality that we think it is just something that happens in movies, books or television shows. Some women wait a lifetime to find their Mr Darcy, Romeo, Prince Charming or Jack Dawson.

You may ask me what bought all of this on? Let me get it straight right now that I am not depressed, not currently lonely and not drinking a bottle of wine and eating a tub of ice cream. I'm just thinking.

I have always been so rushed to fall in love, get married and have children. I'm the kind of person who doesn't want to live the rest of my life alone, but doesn't want to settle because of it.

I'm not sure if it's because I come from a single parent family, because my dad was so utterly pathetic or if it's because of him, but I'd like something more.. I'd like the tortured heart, the assassin, the poet, the cop, the gang member, the older man, the boy toy, the husband, the Spanish lover, the Canadian hockey player, the guy who knows me before I even speak, the mysterious guy, the guy who lays it all out on the table, the confident, damaged and carefree soul.. And because of that fact, I've always seen myself getting married multiple times or never at all. I'm always thinking that no-one will live up to all of those things. That no-one will keep me intrigued, excited, mesmerized and entertained for the rest of my life.

I want something spectacular. Something I thought I'd only have in my dreams. I want a story.

I guess for some of us, holding out for your story is where your story really begins..

Yes, I Think They Can Dance!

Choke On THIS Dancing With The Stars Lol.

PASHa - Yes, I'd Love To.

Christian Kane - Thinking Of You.

My last post says it all.

Thank God He's A Country Boy.

Leverage is worth watching because it's a great television show and because Christian Kane is one of the main actors.

It has to be marriage. Please, oh please, marriage is all I'm asking. Maybe 7 kids as well but for now, marriage will do just fine.

I'd give up shoes, designer makeup and shopping sprees for a lifetime. Well maybe not a lifetime..

........ Ok a lifetime!!!

Anastasia-Evangaline Kane. Mrs Anastasia Kane. A-EK. AK.

Mrs Kane.. It could work.

I could watch him ride a horse, strum his guitar with a pen in his mouth to write lyrics, punch guys who annoy me, order me fries with mustard, smile, sleep, snore, drink beer, walk around in a towel (oh yes) and even burp, fart and all the other less attractive things that men do.

This post is a tad stalker-ish but hell, just look at him! I can't bring myself to post the photos of him in a cowboy hat because then I'd never write another post again just so I didn't have to refresh the page - haha.

If Christian Kane or anyone in the world who knows him ever reads this..

MARRIAGE!

=p

Ride Em'

Howdy ya'll.

I want me a Kentucky boy, just so he can walk in and say that hahaha. Maybe I've been watching too much of Justified.

Timothy Olyphant bringing cowboy back. Damn.

'I Love His Cinema Italiano'

A fantastic story about the most important women in his life.

The mother, the wife, the muse, the mistress, the friend, the prostitute and the fan.

This is a must see for anyone who loves fashion, musicals, drama or men in a desperate mess.
